“Many people fear nothing more terribly than to take a position which stands out sharply and clearly from the prevailing opinion. The tendency of most is to adopt a view that is so ambiguous that it will include everything and so popular that it will include everybody.
Not a few men who cherish lofty and noble ideals hide them under a bushel for fear of being called different.”
– Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
while many are enjoying the day off today, i’m hoping they take a moment to honor the memory of the man our country is celebrating. An unrivaled orator, skillful diplomat, keen strategist, original thinker, persistent negotiator, international celebrity and Nobel Peace laureate. A man whose tactics ranged from litigation to boycott to civil disobedience. A man who was not afraid to let his voice be heard.
don’t lose sight of what is right because of expedience or politics. be bold. be informed. be brilliant.
