hello, hola, bonjour, guten tag, ello-hay…pura vida!!

i’m starting a blog!! weird, i know…

but…

i have a few events coming up that i need to train for, and i need to hold myself accountable here…

i need motivation…

and most of all, i need to spread the word…

you see,  i recently agreed to participate in an event that ultimately benefits a charity I hold very close to my heart- The Four Diamonds Fund. On October 5th and 6th, 2012, I will be joining a team of 12 Hope Express runners for the Ragnar Relay Pennsylvania…beginning in Lancaster, PA and ending in the Poconos.  We will be running 200 miles over a 24 hour period not only to raise money to help in the fight against pediatric cancers, but to honor the Four Diamonds kids and their families and how hard they fight against this horrible disease. every. single. day.

So…

for now, i’ll be using this blog to document my training journey and the ups, downs, and inside outs i experience along the way… with some fitness tips i pick up from people ‘in the know’ and a few things i find to be motivational sprinkled in as well. maybe it’ll be more of a diary since i may be the only one reading it…but maybe not. i’m sure my mom & dad will be devoted followers at least 😉 anyway, hopefully you’ll find it interesting, hopefully you’ll continue coming back; but more than anything, i’m hoping that if i make just one more person aware of how far we still have to go in the fight against pediatric cancers, if i raise enough money to help a child fighting this disease forget their pain for just one day… my mission will be accomplished.

So…

should you feel so inclined to support my cause…. please click here and select my name (Janet Berg if you don’t know me…) from the runners listed in order to donate…
